VINTAGE - 2008

APPELLATION - SONOMA COUNTY, NORTH COAST, CALIFORNIA.

WINE DESCEIPTION:-
This 2008 Sangiovese shows forward aromas of concentrated red cherry and raspberry fruit, with subtle notes of bay leaf and sage. The fruit flavors of cherry and pomegranate come alive on the palate with a tangy and savory quality reminiscent of strawberry rhubarb pie. The rich texture, bright acidity and ample tannin structure carry these flavors through a long finish with a hint of vanilla and caramel.

WINEMAKERS NOTES:-

While Sangiovese is an up-and-coming varietal for California, it is a long revered traditional Mediterranean varietal which has proven to be well suited to Sonoma County. The fruit for this Sangiovese comes from vineyards in the Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and our estate vineyard in the Sonoma Valley. These appellations are known for their warm summer days and cool evening breezes. The Barbera in the blend enhances the fruit aromatics and spicy flavors; the Merlot was included to add richness and soften the tannins.
